I Corinthians 12/13


1 Now about spiritual gifts, brothers, I do not want you to be ignorant.
2 You know that when you were pagans, somehow or other you were influenced and led astray to mute idols.
3 Therefore I tell you that no one who is speaking by the Spirit of God says, “Jesus be cursed,” and no one can say, “Jesus is Lord,” except by the Holy Spirit.
4 There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit.
5 There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord.
6 There are different kinds of working, but the same God works all of them in all men.
7 Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good.
8 To one there is given through the Spirit the message of wisdom, to another the message of knowledge by means of the same Spirit,
9 to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit,
10 to another miraculous powers, to another prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in different kinds of tongues, and to still another the interpretation of tongues.
11 All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, and he gives them to each one, just as he determines.
12 The body is a unit, though it is made up of many parts; and though all its parts are many, they form one body. So it is with Christ.
13 For we were all baptized by one Spirit into one body—whether Jews or Greeks, slave or free—and we were all given the one Spirit to drink.
14 Now the body is not made up of one part but of many.
15 If the foot should say, “Because I am not a hand, I do not belong to the body,” it would not for that reason cease to be part of the body.
16 And if the ear should say, “Because I am not an eye, I do not belong to the body,” it would not for that reason cease to be part of the body.
17 If the whole body were an eye, where would the sense of hearing be? If the whole body were an ear, where would the sense of smell be?
18 But in fact God has arranged the parts in the body, every one of them, just as he wanted them to be.
19 If they were all one part, where would the body be?
20 As it is, there are many parts, but one body.
21 The eye cannot say to the hand, “I don’t need you!” And the head cannot say to the feet, “I don’t need you!”
22 On the contrary, those parts of the body that seem to be weaker are indispensable,
23 and the parts that we think are less honorable we treat with special honor. And the parts that are unpresentable are treated with special modesty,
24 while our presentable parts need no special treatment. But God has combined the members of the body and has given greater honor to the parts that lacked it,
25 so that there should be no division in the body, but that its parts should have equal concern for each other.
26 If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honored, every part rejoices with it.
27 Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it.
28 And in the church God has appointed first of all apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then workers of miracles, also those having gifts of healing, those able to help others, those with gifts of administration, and those speaking in different kinds of tongues.
29 Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Do all work miracles?
30 Do all have gifts of healing? Do all speak in tongues Do all interpret?
31 But eagerly desire the greater gifts. And now I will show you the most excellent way.

1 Corinthians 13

1 If I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am become sounding brass, or a clanging cymbal.
2 And if I have the gift of prophecy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge; and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing
3 And if I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and if I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profiteth me nothing.
4 Love suffereth long, and is kind; love envieth not; love vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,
5 doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not its own, is not provoked, taketh not account of evil;
6 rejoiceth not in unrighteousness, but rejoiceth with the truth
7 beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.
8 Love never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall be done away; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall be done away.
9 For we know in part, and we prophesy in part
10 but when that which is perfect is come, that which is in part shall be done away.
11 When I was a child, I spake as a child, I felt as a child, I thought as a child: now that I am become a man, I have put away childish things.
12 For now we see in a mirror, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know fully even as also I was fully known.
13 But now abideth faith, hope, love, these three; and the greatest of these is love.

1 Corintios 12

1 En cuanto a los dones espirituales, no quiero, hermanos, que seáis ignorantes.2 Sabéis que cuando erais paganos, de una manera u otra erais arrastrados hacia los ídolos mudos.3 Por tanto, os hago saber que nadie hablando por el Espíritu de Dios, dice:Jesús es anatema; y nadie puede decir: Jesús es el Señor, excepto por el Espíritu Santo.Diversidad y unidad de los dones
4 Ahora bien, hay diversidad de dones, pero el Espíritu es el mismo.
5 Y hay diversidad de ministerios, pero el Señor es el mismo.
6 Y hay diversidad de operaciones, pero es el mismo Dios el que hace todas las cosas en todos.
7 Pero a cada uno se le da la manifestación del Espíritu para el bien común.
8 Pues a uno le es dada palabra de sabiduría por el Espíritu; a otro, palabra de conocimiento según el mismo Espíritu;
9 a otro, fe por el mismo Espíritu; a otro, dones de sanidad por el único Espíritu;
10 a otro, poder de milagros; a otro, profecía; a otro, discernimiento de espíritus; a otro, diversas clases de lenguas, y a otro, interpretación de lenguas.
11 Pero todas estas cosas las hace uno y el mismo Espíritu, distribuyendo individualmente a cada uno según la voluntad de El.

La iglesia, cuerpo de Cristo

12 Porque así como el cuerpo es uno, y tiene muchos miembros, pero todos los miembros del cuerpo, aunque son muchos, constituyen un solo cuerpo, así también es Cristo.
13 Pues por un mismo Espíritu todos fuimos bautizados en un solo cuerpo, ya judíos o griegos, ya esclavos o libres, y a todos se nos dio a beber del mismo Espíritu.
14 Porque el cuerpo no es un solo miembro, sino muchos.   
15 Si el pie dijera: Porque no soy mano, no soy parte del cuerpo, no por eso deja de ser parte del cuerpo.
16 Y si el oído dijera: Porque no soy ojo, no soy parte del cuerpo, no por eso deja de ser parte del cuerpo.
17 Si todo el cuerpo fuera ojo, ¿qué sería del oído? Si todo fuera oído, ¿qué sería del olfato?
18 Ahora bien, Dios ha colocado a cada uno de los miembros en el cuerpo según le agradó.
19 Y si todos fueran un solo miembro, ¿qué sería del cuerpo?
20 Sin embargo, hay muchos miembros, pero un solo cuerpo.
21 Y el ojo no puede decir a la mano: No te necesito; ni tampoco la cabeza a los pies: No os necesito.
22 Por el contrario, la verdad es que los miembros del cuerpo que parecen ser los más débiles, son los más necesarios;
23 y las partes del cuerpo que estimamos menos honrosas, a éstas las vestimos con más honra; de manera que las partes que consideramos más íntimas, reciben un trato más honroso,
24 ya que nuestras partes presentables no lo necesitan. Mas así formó Dios el cuerpo, dando mayor honra a la parte que carecía de ella,
25 a fin de que en el cuerpo no haya división, sino que los miembros tengan el mismo cuidado unos por otros.
26 Y si un miembro sufre, todos los miembros sufren con él; y si un miembro es honrado, todos los miembros se regocijan con él.
27 Ahora bien, vosotros sois el cuerpo de Cristo, y cada uno individualmente un miembro de él.
28 Y en la iglesia, Dios ha designado: primeramente, apóstoles; en segundo lugar, profetas; en tercer lugar, maestros; luego, milagros; después, dones de sanidad, ayudas, administraciones, diversas clases de lenguas.
29 ¿Acaso son todos apóstoles? ¿Acaso son todos profetas? ¿Acaso son todos maestros? ¿Acaso son todos obradores de milagros?
30 ¿Acaso tienen todos dones de sanidad? ¿Acaso hablan todos en lenguas? ¿Acaso interpretan todos?
31 Mas desead ardientemente los mejores dones. Y aun yo os muestro un camino más excelente.

1 Corintios 13

1 Si yo hablara lenguas humanas y angélicas, pero no tengo amor, he llegado a ser como metal que resuena o címbalo que retiñe.
2 Y si tuviera el don de profecía, y entendiera todos los misterios y todo conocimiento, y si tuviera toda la fe como para trasladar montañas, pero no tengo amor, nada soy.
3 Y si diera todos mis bienes para dar de comer a los pobres, y si entregara mi cuerpo para ser quemado, pero no tengo amor, de nada me aprovecha.
4 El amor es paciente, es bondadoso; el amor no tiene envidia; el amor no es jactancioso, no es arrogante;
5 no se porta indecorosamente; no busca lo suyo, no se irrita, no toma en cuenta el mal recibido ;
6 no se regocija de la injusticia, sino que se alegra con la verdad;
7 todo lo sufre, todo lo cree, todo lo espera, todo lo soporta.
8 El amor nunca deja de ser; pero si hay dones de profecía, se acabarán; si hay lenguas, cesarán; si hay conocimiento, se acabará.
9 Porque en parte conocemos, y en parte profetizamos;
10 pero cuando venga lo perfecto, lo incompleto se acabará.
11 Cuando yo era niño, hablaba como niño, pensaba como niño, razonaba como niño; pero cuando llegué a ser hombre, dejé las cosas de niño.
12 Porque ahora vemos por un espejo, veladamente, pero entonces veremos cara a cara; ahora conozco en parte, pero entonces conoceré plenamente, como he sido conocido.
13 Y ahora permanecen la fe, la esperanza y el amor, estos tres; pero el mayor de ellos es el amor.
