Former star quarterback Tim Tebow used to rack up points for the University of Florida, but now he is scoring big with a pro-family message.
According to Christian ministry Focus on the Family, the Heisman Trophy winner and his mother will be featured in a Pro-Life television commercial scheduled to run during the Super Bowl on CBS-TV on Sunday, Feb. 7.
"Tim and Pam share our respect for life and our passion for helping families thrive," Jim Daly, president and CEO of Focus on the Family, based in Colorado Springs, Colo., said in a statement. "They live what we see every day - that the desire for family closeness is written on the hearts of every generation."

<trackback:ping>http://www.networknewspaper.org/DesktopModules/DnnForge%20-%20NewsArticles/Tracking/Trackback.aspx?ArticleID=262&PortalID=0&TabID=53</trackback:ping>
South Korea Laments Birthrate Drop From Anti-Child Emphasis

WASHINGTON (BP)--South Korean officials are searching for ways to reverse a decline in the country's birthrate, concluding that a policy of denouncing more than two children per couple as "unpatriotic" has had adverse effects.
The push for a higher birthrate comes as some of South Korea's doctors have asked for forgiveness for performing illegal abortions for years and are working to cut the number of the abortions in the Asian country.
With South Korea's fertility rate at 4.5 children per woman in the 1970s, the government started encouraging fewer children, even offering exemption from mandatory army reserve duty if a man underwent sterilization.

On November 11, during a 9:00am class of first-year students, led by Allen Hood and Wes Hall at International House of Prayer University (IHOPU), the Spirit moved in their midst with physical healings, deliverance, and a spirit of joy. That class, on November 11, continued for more than 15 hours. The word spread quickly, and over 2,000 people spontaneously gathered in the auditorium from all over the Kansas City area, as deliverance and physical healings increased. The meeting continued well past midnight. Recognizing that the Spirit was moving, the leadership of IHOPU canceled all classes for the next few days so that we could gather to receive all that the Spirit wanted to do.
We recognize that the Holy Spirit is awakening our students and many others. In each of these meetings, many people are being set free from addictions, shame, depression, demonic activity, and every sort of emotional pain. We are also witnessing an increase of physical healings, as God is touching and restoring bodies inside the building, as well as healing people watching via the webstream. Moreover, we greatly rejoice as we are seeing lost souls being added to the kingdom of God during these meetings.

<trackback:ping>http://www.networknewspaper.org/DesktopModules/DnnForge%20-%20NewsArticles/Tracking/Trackback.aspx?ArticleID=249&PortalID=0&TabID=53</trackback:ping>
Jack Cafferty All But Endorses Global One-Child Policy to Fight Climate Change

CNN’s Jack Cafferty all but endorsed a global version of China’s oppressive one-child policy on Friday’s Situation Room. He repeated the argument of Canadian journalist Diane Francis, that population control is the only way to fight global warming, and mentioned the opposition of “fundamentalist leaders” and others only in passing. All but one of the viewer e-mails that Cafferty read endorsed the idea.
The CNN commentator raised the population control issue eight minutes into the 4 pm Eastern hour during one of his “Cafferty File” segments. Though he didn’t give much of a hint as to his stance on the proposal at first, Cafferty made it much more clear after he read his “Question of the Hour:”
(Cafferty said), "While world leaders meet to talk about combating climate change in Copenhagen, some people say that population control is, at the end of the day, the only real way to fight it."
