The document, according to Lila Rose of Live Action, reveals nine of nine underage girls, aged 13 to 15, and received abortions without proper verification of parental consent. Also, one 13-year-old girl went to the Planned Parenthood clinic for two different abortions within the span of four months. An investigation by state's Bureau of Health Provider Standards found that several girls between 13 and 15 received abortions at the Birmingham Planned Parenthood clinic without parental consent. The pro-life group "Live Action" recorded a secret audiotape in which a clinic employee claims someone other than a legal guardian can give consent. "We have seen this across the country in our investigative work and released videos from several other states showing the same activity," Lila Rose, president and founder of Live Action, said during break from classes at UCLA. "To me this is the problem. You would think that an abortion clinic that intended to be law-abiding would have a lawyer or someone in the facility personally sit down and read what the statute requires and that obviously hadn't been done," Rick Harris, director of Alabama's Bureau of Health Provider Standards, said in an interview with The Associated Press. The duration of the imposed probation is one year and the clinic has until next week to present its plan to correct the violations.
