Mr. Biden has continually opposed Catholic church teaching on prolife legislation. Although personally opposes abortion he told Christian Science Monitor, "I don't think I have the right to impose my view--on something I accept as a matter of faith - on the rest of society."

The scripture says, a double minded man is unstable in all his ways. Bidens voting record proves that this make has made up his mind to follow the party line. His voting record against Scalia, Thomas, etc. as Supreme court justices makes it clear that he is not a man interested in following strict consitutional guidelines. His voting record on Roe  v Wade stands as a testimonial to what his faith means to him. On June 21, 2002, Biden voted for a provision to repeal a prohibition on U.S. military facilities overseas being used to perform abortions.

The bishop of the state of Delaware stated om 2004, "In 2004, Bishop Michael Saltarelli of the Diocese of Wilmington, Del., where Biden resides, published a statement on “Catholics in Political Life.”  It especially focused on the issue of abortion.

"No one today would accept this statement from any public servant: ‘I am personally opposed to human slavery and racism but will not impose my personal conviction in the legislative arena,’” Bishop Saltarelli wrote.  “Likewise, none of us should accept this statement from any public servant: ‘I am personally opposed to abortion but will not impose my personal conviction in the legislative arena.’"

Saltarelli said the church would not invite pro-abortion politicians to speak at Catholic schools or functions.

“Our Catholic institutions will not honor Catholic politicians who take pro-abortion legislative positions or invite them to speak at our functions or schools,” the bishop wrote. “While they are to be treated civilly, respectfully and with gospel charity, they should never be put forward as a model of a Catholic in public life.”

If Senator Obama picked Biden because of his affilation with the Catholic Church his move in my opinion was in error.
