The National Christian Forensics and Communications Association

Congratulations to all the 2008 National Champions!
This year The National Christian Forensics and Communications Association (NCFCA) held its 2008 National Championship in Birmingham Alabama June 9-13, 200h at Berry Middle School, 2826 Columbiana Road. NCFCA believes that formal speech and debate can provide a means for home schooled students to learn and exercise analytical and oratorical skills, addressing life issues from a Biblical worldview in a manner that glorifies God. To provide these opportunities to home schooled students, NCFCA facilitates qualifying tournaments throughout the country and the annual national tournament.
The Board of Directors includes individuals who have extensive forensics experience, as well as those who have served as home school leaders. By combining these areas of experience, NCFCA is able to address forensics issues and opportunities while remaining sensitive to the concerns and convictions of Christian home schooling families.
Approximately 500 home educated students along with their families traveled from all over the country to compete. The competition consists of ten different speech events and two types of debate.
The NCFCA is the third largest speech and debate league in the country. As you might imagine, it is a tremendous task to secure one thousand community judges for our national tournament. Any interest and subsequent participation will be greatly appreciated.
The last four years I have had the honor of participating as a judge in 5 different areas of competition. These young participants are so talented that it is difficult to choose which team or individuals are the best. I walk away with great hope, encouraged that these talented students will help forge the future of our country.
