39 Years After Roe V. Wade, No Gurney Access Endangers Two Injured Abortion Patients in Alabama
By NetworkNews @ 3:35 PM :: 11 Views
|

January 22, 2012-Operation Rescuse- Birmingham, AL – Two women were transported from a Alabama abortion clinic yesterday after paramedics had to hand-lift a partially clad woman from a narrow doorway and down several steps to an awaiting gurney. A second woman was wheeled to her gurney in a wheelchair. The incident took place at the New Women All Women abortion clinic in South Birmingham. This occurred on the day before the 39th memorial of the Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision decriminalized abortion in America. That decision promised that women would be insured “safe, legal abortions.” It was a promise that was never kept.

Top U.S. Catholic Bishop: ‘Administration is on Wrong Side of the Constitution Again’
By NetworkNews @ 12:55 PM :: 12 Views
|
By Terrence Jeffery-CNSnews-
Cardinal Timothy Dolan, president of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops, has recorded a video message bluntly stating that the Obama administration has a habit of advancing policies that violate the U.S. Constitution.“But I am afraid the administration is on the wrong side of the Constitution again,”
The new video message (Catholic Bishops Website) is the latest step in an escalating and historically unprecedented confrontation between the Roman Catholic Church and an American president.
It centers around what the American Catholic bishops see as the Obama administration’s efforts to restrict the right of Catholic citizens and institutions to freely exercise their religion as guaranteed by the 1st Amendment to the Constitution.
This time, Dolan said, the administration is moving to violate the 1st Amendment by forcing Catholics to purchase health insurance plans that cover sterilizations and artificial contraceptives, including abortifacients. The church teaches that sterilization, artificial contraception and abortion violate the natural law and that Catholics cannot be involved in them. Dolan called on Americans to contact elected officials and call for the administration’s health-insurance regulation to be rescinded.

Why Evangelicals are Smitten with Newt Gingrich
By NetworkNews @ 12:00 PM :: 11 Views
|
By David Brody CBN News Chief Political Correspondent
Former House speaker predicts conservatives will eventually come together and support him. Meanwhile, he is reaching out to evangelicals who propelled him to victory in South Carolina.
Many in the media are puzzled about why Gingrich is doing so well among Christian voters, despite a history of marital infidelity. The answer seems to start with forgiveness.
"Nobody's perfect," one voter said. "We all have a history of backgrounds of mistakes, and I think he's corrected a lot of mistakes in his past."
"What does that say to you, the sentiment of forgiveness from evangelicals?" CBN News asked the former House speaker.

Obama Orders Catholics to Act Against Their Faith; Bishops Call it 'Unconscionable'
By NetworkNews @ 4:21 PM :: 25 Views

By Terence P. Jeffrey
January 22, 2012 (CNSNews.com) - The Obama administration on Friday finalized a regulation that orders all Americans—unless they work directly at a church--to purchase government-approved health insurance plans that cover sterilizations and all FDA-approved contraceptives including those that cause abortions.The regulation further requires that health-insurance plans must provide sterilizations, contraceptives and abortifacients without any fees or co-pay.The regulation, issued as part of the initial implementation of Obamacare, requires Catholics to act against their faith--which teaches that sterilization, artificial contraception and abortion violate the natural law and that Catholics cannot be involved in them.

VATICAN CITY, JAN. 17, 2012 (Zenit.org).- The annual Week of Prayer for Christian Unity begins Wednesday and will conclude on Jan. 25, the feast of the conversion of St. Paul. The texts for this year's celebration were prepared by groups in Poland.
This year's theme is "We will all be changed by the victory of Our Lord Jesus Christ."
A statement from the Vatican Information Service noted that the week is promoted by the World Council of Churches (WCC), a worldwide fellowship of 349 churches seeking unity, common witness and Christian service. The Catholic Church participates in this ecumenical initiative, despite not being a member of the WCC.

Late in October 1973, grassroots prolife leaders became concerned that January 22, 1974, might come and go without properly memorializing the Supreme Court's infamous abortion decisions and without petitioning Congress for redress.
No established right-to-life organization was prepared to undertake the planning, financial and operational responsibilities for a high impact prolife March on the U.S. Capitol. But, grassroots prolifers wanted to march! About thirty prolife veterans resolved themselves into a committee and began making plans for the first March for Life.

Annual Birmingham Catholic Charismatic Conference 2011

Birmingham Catholic Charismatic Conference July 29th & 30th, 2011
Our Lady of Sorrows Family Life Center
The Spirit and the Bride Say Come,
Even So, Come, and Lord Jesus
By Dolores Milazzo-Hicks
In our image of this year’s conference the Bride is reaching out through the power of the Holy Spirit for her Bridegroom, this picture portrays the longing in the heart of the Church for Christ return, to come quickly. This captures the scriptural theme for this year’s Catholic Charismatic Conference 2011 that comes from The Book of Revelation chapter 22:17, “The Spirit and the Bride say come, even so Come Lord Jesus.”
For some of us who have never examined the prophetic call of this powerful verse I thought it was important that we meditate on the deep meaning of our own call to see our Lord face to face.

Prince of Peace Catholic Church First Responder Tornado Relief Drive
By NetworkNews @ 9:10 PM :: 455 Views

Alabama, April 27,2011 proved to be a devastating day in the lives of the people in the southeastern part of the United States. When there are sirens going off and weather radios beeping and TV weather forecasters sounding the alarms of e4 and e5 tornado's heading your way the first thing you think about is getting yourself and all those you love to safety. Then you find yourself calling friends and relative to warn them of the impending disaster. Some of us watched these terrible scenes on television as the huge plume swirled in the air over Tuscaloosa knowing that is where many of our children and relative were in school. Cars and objects darted out of this mass of destruction and our hearts sank as we continued to watch the tornado move from community to community bringing the same death and destruction as we watched, praying and hoping it would stop.

Pope Benedict XVI says, "mankind was not the product of random evolution..."
By NetworkNews @ 5:32 PM :: 479 Views
|
April 23, 2011, Vigil Mass, Vatican "The creation account tells us, then, that the world is a product of creative Reason," he continued. "Hence it tells us that, far from there being an absence of reason and freedom at the origin of all things, the source of everything is creative Reason, love, and freedom." As a result, the Holy Father explained that the creation account of Scripture and St. John's Gospel affirm "that in the beginning is reason," and that mankind was not the product of random evolution "in the expanding universe, at a late stage, in some tiny corner of the cosmos." "If man were merely a random product of evolution in some place on the margins of the universe, then his life would make no sense or might even be a chance of nature," he said. "But no, Reason is there at the beginning: creative, divine Reason."
